The technician diagnosed a loose wire in our gas fireplace. The fireplace now works but I found that $300 for that is far too much. That was the quick fix quote. I was told by the lady in the office that if I went ahead with the work that the service call charge would not apply. The technician could not verify this so I was left not knowing if this offer applied to my job. He also looked at my furnace and without it operating, gave me an estimate for a new motor for over $700. How can he know it needs a new motor due to the bearings being gone without at least having the furnace motor running?
Our furnace stopped working late last winter. Called a Fox service technician in to determine what was wrong. We were told that the furnace was unsafe to use and that we needed a replacement furnace (estimated cost $6k). We got a second opinion and we're told by replacing two minor parts, at a fraction of the cost, that the furnace would operate. We did that and the furnace is operating perfectly now. Multiple tests were also performed ensuring us that indeed, the furnace is safe to operate.
I won a heating and cooling inspection at the home show in Kamloops and found that the guy Shawn who did the inspection was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained every thing he was going to do in a language I could understand and was so calm. He took his time when showing me how to switch off my gas fire piolight and how to reconnect it. He even allowed me time to wright it down so I would not forget.I was very happy with the service and would recommend Fox and Son's to a friend .
Well not really sure how to rate this company. On Tuesday the 11 we had our furnace serviced and cleaned and told that it was in excellent condition and all ready to go. Wednesday evening when we needed it the furnace didn't work. Called Thursday morning was told that they were coming out that day. After waiting as long as we could e called and scheduled it for Friday morning. Still no one showed. Then was told after numerous calls back to the company that someone would be out Saturday morning at 10 . Well it's now 12 and I haven't heard from them. Another wasted day waiting for fox and Son's. Hopefully some day soon this issue will resolved.
On the afternoon of the scheduled appointment we received a text message from Justin asking permission to come early for the appointment, shortly thereafter we received an email with his picture so that we could recognize him upon arrival. We really appreciated this pre introduction and by the time we answered the door we felt like we had already met. He was professional, informative, personable offering us a quote for a new AC unit, as well as a few tips on how we could cool/ heat our home more efficiently. Overall a very pleasant experience.
