I really appreciate the community at VCS. Some other reviewers have mentioned bullying. I think you would be hard pressed to find a school anywhere that had zero bullying. I know first hand that bullying does happen on occasion, but I also have seen that bullying dealt with in a way that is redemptive for both parties. I appreciate how the staff deal with issues. They answer concerns and emails every time I bring up an issue. Situations are addressed when they are brought to light. My children are getting a top notch education that exceeds BC Ministry of Education expectations. Their education includes real world experience of how to serve our wider community. Students are not just taught knowledge, but also how to apply that knowledge in a way that honors God and honors people around them.
Rewritten Feb 2017. The teachers my child has had to date have been fabulous. Very caring. The staff for the most part is fab actually.The reason for 3 stars rests on the lack of accountability for the bully/mean kids. In Sept we lost yet another wonderful family because of the schools inability to address bullying. They only made it 3 weeks into the school year before calling it quits. This is after years of issues so it was not a new situation. In public schools bullying is not tolerated and kids will get suspended and eventually expelled. But alas not here. There has been no repercussion that have any meaning. Education wise this school is exceptional. If they come up with a real plan for bullying then this school will be near perfect.Will rewrite if things change.
VCS is an amazing school with a great sense of being a helping hand in the community. We love that our children learn the importance of the giving of their talents to be a blessing to those around them. We feel grateful that they attend a school where they get the chance to experience opportunities like these first hand.
Vcs is an amazing school. It has been awesome for my child to be attending almost 4 yrs now to the school. We love the buddy system were they interact with both elementary and high school students. Teaches amazing life and independent skills to the students. Teachers are great and so supportive of every individual.
VCS is an outstanding school with amazing staff. Our children have had a great experience here so far and we are excited to see them continue to grow in their academic knowledge as well as their love for God. The communication between staff and parents is amazing. Any situations that arise are dealt with in a loving manner, and parents are told about the situation and how it was dealt with. This is a great community that we are proud to be a part of .
